This Sunday Ellen Dinerman will be leading a Zoom Colloquy.   The subject of this Colloquy will be “Hardship”, in recognition of the unique and difficult times that all of us are experiencing.

  • Colloquy is a shared meditative experience focused around a theme that helps us get in touch with our own spirituality.

It includes some readings, musical interludes, silent reflection, singing together and a response period.

It differs from Platform in two ways:

    • Where Platform is meant to provide an experience of community, Colloquy is designed to provide an experience of meaning.
  • Where the response period in Platform is in the nature of a dialogue with the speaker, in Colloquy there is no dialogue. The purpose of a "response" in Colloquy is to deepen your own personal experience by verbalizing it - it is not conversational in tone, nor is it intended to persuade or engage anyone in a dialogue. The response period is your only opportunity to speak - just once - so be sure to say what is important to you during your turn. If you do not want to respond that is fine.
After the Colloquy, there will be a discussion about the experience.
